About the program

The mountain doesn't forgive improvisation. This course is the foundation for everything that comes after: orientation with map and compass, gear selection, movement on different terrain, reading weather and reacting when things go sideways. Theory in the classroom, drills on terrain, wrapped up with a short tour where you apply what you've learned in real conditions.

Orientation

Map, compass, altimeter, GPS — how to know where you are and where you're going, with and without signal.

Movement on terrain

Walking uphill and down, scree, snow, wet rock — technique and pace.

Safety & first aid

Hazard recognition, first-aid basics, what to do when someone is lost.

Weather & planning

Reading forecasts, route choice, plan B, when to turn back.

The questions we keep hearing.

01Do I need to be fit?

Not very. The course is designed for an average level — if you can walk 3–4 hours with breaks, you're ready.

02What if I can't make all three weekends?

Weekends can be made up in the next cycle. The certificate is issued once you complete all modules.

03Is the course for kids?

We have a family variant for kids 10+ with a parent. Write to us for details.
